Heads up! Make sure Grimlock for bbPress is installed first!
Please make sure you have bbPress and Grimlock for bbPress installed and activated before customizing the forum pages. If you haven’t already done so, you still can install this plugin before proceeding to the following steps.
Download Grimlock for bbPress
The forum pages of your website can be modified through the Customizer. To display all available customization options, please navigate to Appearance > Customize.
Customizing the Forum Pages General Options
To customize the general options for the forum pages, go to Appearance > Customize > Forums > General.
- Title – The title for the root forum page.
- Description – The description for the root forum page.
Customizing the Forum Pages Layout
To customize the layout options for the forum pages, go to Appearance > Customize > Forums > Layout.
- Header Layout – The layout of the header for the forum pages.
- Header Spread – The spread of the header for the forum pages.
- Sidebars – The layout of the sidebars for the forum pages. Enable the Display sidebar on mobile pages checkbox to display the sidebars when the forum pages is displayed on a mobile device.
- Spread – The spread of the content for the forum pages.
Customizing the Forum Pages Style
To customize the style options for the forum pages, go to Appearance > Customize > Forums > Style.
- Header Image – The image displayed in the background of the header for the forum pages.
- Header Padding – The vertical padding of the header for the forum pages, conditioning its size. Please note that the padding settings will only affect the header when displayed. You might need to review the general options for the header before customizing its padding for the forum pages.
- Content Padding – The vertical padding of the content for the forum pages, conditioning its size.
